Hello.

Welcome to The College of Preachers' website.  If this is your first visit, you may want to know who we are.  If you're a frequent visitor, you may like to go straight to our latest news.  Then use the menus at the top of each page to find what you're looking for.

Subscription Zone.

The LOGIN item on the menu bar gives access to the Subscription Zone where, inter alia, you can participate in our lively Discussion Forum.

One discussion thread currently generating interest, concerns resourcing preachers in isolated or rural areas.  Why not read what others have said, then add your two-penneth; or even start a discussion on another subject?

Did you know?

The only way to gain access to the Subscription Zone on this website is by subscribing to The Preacher, our flagship product.  And the only way to do that is via the College; The Preacher is not available in any shop.

The current issue is no. 138 (pictured).  It offers sermon ideas for Sundays in July, August and September, 2010.  It also contains feature articles of interest to preachers covering such diverse subjects as the importance of the Old Testament; engaging faithfully with the congregation; preaching in the Salvation Army tradition; and ancient elements of preaching.  Subscribe here.

Home and away.

People often ask us where The College of Preachers is.  Wrong question!  We’re not the kind of College that has its own building.  But we do have a 'virtual office' that handles all your correspondence and telephone calls, and we do love to hear from you.  You can find details of how to contact us here.

The reason our office is a 'virtual' one, is we’re always on the road, organising events or setting up displays.  Over the next few months we’re visiting The City Academy in Bristol, Davidson's Mains Parish Church (pictured) in Edinburgh, the diocesan readers conference in Ely, Wesley's Chapel in London, and The International Centre in Telford. If one of these locations is near you, why not look up the details in our diary?

Our Jubilee Commitment.

The conferences, exhibitions, seminars and festivals listed above and in our diary, are all one-off events.  But we also have one project that runs right through this special year, our Golden Jubilee.  We call it the Jubilee Commitment to Good Preaching.

We're inviting as many preachers as possible to sign up to this pledge (pictured).  So far, about 1000 have done so.  Will you add your name?  It won't cost you a penny to do it on-line.  Alternatively, you can download our order form and tick the box 'Commitment to good preaching'.

A word of welcome from our Director
