Our new on line learning modules - why not sample them?

three new modulesSample material from the College of Preachers' first three on line learning modules is ready to look at and try out.  The modules are 'Narrative Preaching', 'Pastoral Preaching' and 'Preaching at Occasional Services'.

We're planning to 'test market' these modules in the second half of this year.  When you have sampled the material, we hope you'll feel you would like more information with a view to registering for one of the modules.  If so, do please e-mail Morfa and let her know.

We can accept registration from the beginning of June.  The introductory price is £40.00 per module.  For this you get approximately 12 hours of learning material (depending on how quickly you work!); and tuition by e-mail from a College tutor with up to three sermons which you will need to prepare as part of your study.

Sample material is now available whether or not you are a member.  Please click here for the sample file.  (Please note that you will have to download and save the sample file if you want to try it out properly.  You also need to have the right version of Adobe.)  Please click here for the workbook that goes with it.

Sermons on video

Strictly Come PreachingStrictly Come Preaching (SCP) is strictly about preaching, just preaching. It’s an invitation to reflect on your own preaching by studying someone else’s.

Here is a set of three sermons - one ‘thematic’, one ‘narrative’ and one ‘expository’ - to look at and listen to. All are real sermons shared with real congregations, preached during the summer of 2007. The preachers are Marian Crawford, Paul Johns and Simon Cansdale.

Each sermon comes with questions and comments about the preacher’s use of the Bible, about the form and structure of the sermon, and about style and delivery. There is also a set of questions to prompt you to think about your own preaching in the light of the sermons.

The questions and comments have been prepared for the College of Preachers by Rev. Dr. Jonathan Hustler, Methodist Minister; Rev. Bill Mahood, Minister in the United Reformed Church; and Sonia Woolley, actor and tutor in voice and presentation skills.

SCP is available free to members.  Please click on Resources in the Members section of this website.

Sample clips are now available whether or not you are a member, as is the full package on DVD for a small charge.  Please click here for the sample learning package.  Please click here to order the full package on DVD.
